I knew it would not be long until Samsung entered the competition for the top Smart Phone Spot. I have to admit, the Samsung Galaxy S is quite impressive with its laundry list of functions. You will quickly notice that the Galaxy was defiantly designed with the user in mind. The great thing about the Galaxy S is that all of the features listed bellow come standard. What does this mean to you? There’s no jail breaking involved in order to get your favorite everyday features that you enjoy. Specifications specific to this phone is another discussion all together, so let’s get into the features!

Features:

Smart Alarm
Play sounds that allow you to gradually arise in the morning vice having a panic attack from your old fashion buzzing alarms.

Daily Briefing
If you are a RSS feed junkie like myself you will enjoy this feature because it allows you to plan for the day’s weather and stay up on your current events.

Integrated Calender
Sync your Google calender with your mobile’s to stay organized.

Car Mode
Allows you to instantly view weather, Google maps, Google voice search, and navigation services in three ways – in real time with Real Street View, Traffic View, or Satellite View.

No cords required! This is a great feature that allows you to use your phone as a wireless Internet connection.

HD Recording
HD recording at your finger tips thanks to the SUPER AMOLED display.

4.0″ Super AMOLED
Slightly smaller than the iPhone screen, but the SUPER AMOLED technology makes up for it.

No more potential thumb injuries thanks to the new SWYPE technology that you just slide.

ThinkFree
I’m thinking nothing is better than free right now with ThinkFree Office Mobile. Now you can open, edit, and save any MS Office document including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. This feature will surely increase productivity, and that’s always a major plus.

Internet Browser
“Powered by Android, Improved by Samsung” – Samsung

Conclusion

After seeing this phone and its features, I would tell Motorola and others to halt their releases and go back to the drawing boards. I have never particularly been a fan of Samsung in the past, but this mobile phone has definitely made me a believer in what kind of product Samsung is putting on the market . I just love how the Android Mobile OS is making waves in the smart phone market and giving the Appple OS a run for its money. The only sub par features that I have noticed are the camera and the memory space, but the MicroSD expansion makes up for it. Moreover, the Galaxy S will be released on July 21, but you can pre-order it now at RadioShack under the name Captivate for AT&T, Vibrant on T-Mobile, and Epic 4G on Sprint. Now that you have heard what I have to say, what’s your take?
